Woman withdraws police report against singer's son over stolen Ferrari

KUALA LUMPUR: A businesswoman has withdrawn her police report against the son of a singer and two others she accused of stealing her Ferrari.

Muhamad Firdaus Jumaludin, lawyer for the singer's 40-year-old son Mohd Aliff Naim Mohd Azmir, said the dispute with the businesswoman had been amicably resolved, including issuing a formal apology.

"The police report was withdrawn by the complainant on Tuesday (April 14). We're waiting for the official investigation report to go to court for the next step," he said after the hearing outside Ampang court on Wednesday (April 15).

During Wednesday's hearing, Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Aizudin Radthuan requested Magistrate Normaizan Rahim to postpone proceedings as there was no record the police report had been withdrawn.

Normaizan set case mention for April 27 to check the status of the police report.

Mohd Aliff Naim, Norqyyum Zainori and Nor Kamrulazli Muhamed Noor Husen were charged with stealing a RM300,000 Ferrari from a 55-year-old woman at a Jalan Hillview, Hulu Kelang car wash at 11.08am on Nov 17, 2024.

They were charged under Section 379A of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34, which carries up to seven years in jail or a fine upon conviction.

They also pleaded not guilty to an alternative charge of keeping stolen property under Section 411 of the Penal Code, carrying up to five years in jail, a fine, or both if convicted.

Media reports cited that police arrested six people, including a woman believed to be involved in the theft. – Bernama
