Family living in abandoned home saved

A family in Perak living without water or electricity supply in an abandoned house is being taken care of by the welfare department, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The woman, identified as Mohanapriya, 29, along with her disabled mother P. Chinnamma, 75, and three children had moved to the house in Bidor a few weeks ago.

They were pushed into these conditions after Mohanapriya left her husband and moved away from Penang.

The three children have not been attending school for the past one year.

Perak exco member Datuk A. Sivanesan, who intervened to help the family, said the three children have been placed at a home in Bagan Datuk, while the two women are in a welfare home in Bidor.

Mohanapriya has been employed to work at the welfare home while the three children will return to school.
