Motorcyclist killed after crashing into stalled trailer on expressway


SEREMBAN: A 74-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he crashed into a stalled trailer lorry along the North-South Expressway.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Azahar Abdul Rahim said the victim died on the spot in the 7.20pm crash at KM266.1 of the highway on Wednesday (April 8).

"It is understood that the victim was heading to Port Dickson from Seri Kembangan in Selangor when the accident occurred.

"Based on a preliminary investigation, the lorry driver had stopped along the emergency lane after the vehicle’s timing belt snapped.

"The victim’s remains were sent to Rembau Hospital for a post-mortem," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
