MetMalaysia: Thunderstorm warning for KL, Putrajaya, Labuan, 11 states until 2am


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds for the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan, as well as 11 states until 2am early Friday (April 10).

In a statement on Thursday (April 9), MetMalaysia said the adverse weather is expected to affect the whole of Penang, Perak, Kelantan, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka.

In Kedah, the areas forecast to be hit are Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu, while in Johor, it involves the Segamat district.

The same warning has been issued in Sabah for the Interior areas of Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Nabawan and Keningau.

In Sarawak, the warning covers Sarikei (Julau), Sibu (Kanowit and Selangau), Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Beluru, Telang Usan and Marudi), as well as Limbang. — Bernama
