Dad admits to sexually assaulting teenage daughter

SEREMBAN: A 47-year-old man pleaded guilty in the Sessions Court here to two counts of physical sexual assault against his teenage daughter.

The accused, who was unrepresented, did not contest the charges after they were read to him before Judge N. Kanageswari.

In the first incident, he was charged with sexually assaulting the victim, then 14, at about 3pm on a day in July 2024 in the bedroom of a house in Port Dickson.

He allegedly assaulted the girl a second time at the same location at about 4pm on Feb 21 this year.

The accused was charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, read together with Section 16 of the same legislation.

Section 14(a) provides for imprisonment of up to 20 years and whipping, while Section 16(1) allows for an additional five years’ imprisonment and at least two strokes of the cane upon conviction.

Deputy public prosecutor Nurul Balkis Zunaidi then requested another date for the submission of facts and sentencing.

The prosecution also declined to offer the accused bail.

Judge Kanageswari fixed April 16 for sentencing.
