A MAN in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh bit off his wife’s nose following a family dispute, Makkal Osai reported.

The husband, known as Phool Khan, and his wife Pana frequently got into arguments, said Pana’s brother.

A few days ago, their fight took a violent turn when Phool attacked Pana and bit off part of her nose and cheek.

Pana was rushed to a local community health centre in Hamirpur city where she received 10 stitches to her face.

She was then transferred to a medical college hospital due to the severity of her injuries.

Doctors are planning reconstructive surgeries to restore her nose.

Police are looking for Phool, who has gone into hiding.

They are also investigating whether there were any prior instances of marital abuse.
