Sabah mulls work-from-home option for state civil servants

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government is reviewing the possibility of allowing state civil servants to work from home (WFH).

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the state Cabinet will discuss the proposal and decide on it in about two weeks.

"If necessary, we will implement it," he said after a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration with the media on Sunday (April 5).

The federal government will require some civil servants to work from home from April 15 as part of its energy-saving measures.

Hajiji said the state is prepared to take measures to address the impacts of the global energy situation caused by the conflict in the Middle East.

He said the state government was recently briefed on these challenges during a special meeting of Chief Ministers and Menteris Besar chaired by the Prime Minister.
