Man nabbed over alleged sexual harassment at MRT station

KAJANG: A man was arrested on Saturday (April 5) following a sexual harassment case at the entrance to the Kajang MRT Station, Sinar Harian reports.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said the arrest was made on Saturday after police investigated a 23-second video that went viral on social media.

“The video shows an incident believed to have occurred at Gate A of the station on Thursday (April 2) at about 6.15pm.

“The suspect believed to be involved in this case has been arrested and will be brought to a Kajang Magistrates’ Court to apply for a remand order for further investigations,” he said in a statement Sunday (April 5).

Sinar Harian had earlier reported that police were actively tracking down a man believed to be involved in a sexual harassment case at the Kajang MRT station.

Earlier, in a social media post, an individual alleged that the incident occurred while the victim was waiting in an open area near the station staircase when a man approached and touched parts of the victim’s body without consent.

In the same post, the victim said she only realised what had happened after being touched, before the suspect fled.
