Woman killed by feral monkeys


A 65-YEAR-OLD woman has died after being set upon and attacked by a troop of feral monkeys, Makkal Osai reported.

She tried to run away when she saw the monkeys approaching her as she was returning home from her farm in a village in India’s southern state of Andhra Pradesh.

However, the poor villager slipped and fell, and was mauled by the simians.

She was on the way home where she lived with her daughter’s family.

The cause of the attack was not known.

Police said villagers and farmers in the Kakinada area have faced problems with feral monkeys for some time.
