Cops nab robbery suspect who posed as Immigration officer

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a local man suspected of impersonating an Immigration officer to rob foreign nationals.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Sazalee Adam said the 32-year-old suspect was arrested at 1.30pm on Monday (March 23).

"During the arrest, we also seized clothing, a motorcycle, a helmet and a food delivery bag believed to have been used by the suspect to carry out the crimes,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (March 24).

ACP Sazalee said the suspect would pose as an Immigration officer, approach foreign nationals and demand their passports before fleeing with their wallets and cash.

"With the arrest, we have solved two reported robbery cases.

"The investigation paper is being finalised and will be referred to prosecutors for further action,” he said. – Bernama
