Over 100 foreigners inspected in festive Immigration operation

IPOH: An operation to ensure foreigners abide by immigration laws was held here on the first day of Hari Raya.

Perak Immigration Department director Datuk James Lee said the operation, codenamed Ops Omnipresence, saw 105 individuals checked within the Kinta district between 9am and 2pm on Saturday (March 21).

"Nine enforcement officers conducted random checks at several hot spots to ensure that foreigners had legal documents.

"The operation is part of our continuous efforts to ensure public safety and peace, especially during the festive season, and will be held from time to time at strategic locations," he said in a statement.
