MetMalaysia: Heat wave-level temperature in Padang Terap, 10 other areas at caution-level


KUALA LUMPUR: Padang Terap in Kedah is currently at Level 2 (Heat Wave) temperature as of 4pm on Saturday (March 21) according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

MetMalaysia in a statement announced that 10 other areas in the Peninsula are at Level 1 (Caution), involving the entire state of Perlis; Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Sik, Pulau Langkawi, Kuala Muda, Pendang, Baling and Bandar Baharu in Kedah; and Penang Northeast district.

According to the agency, the Caution Level refers to daily maximum temperatures between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius for at least three consecutive days.

The Heat Wave Level involves daily maximum temperatures between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius for the same period.
