THE filming of a major Indian movie in Ipoh began with a pooja at the Kallumalai Arulmigu Subramaniyar Temple, Makkal Osai reported.
The ceremony was attended by the film crew and local leaders, including Perak exco member Datuk A. Sivanesan.
The Sungkai assemblyman said about 75% of the movie will be shot at various locations in Ipoh and will employ local talent and technical staff in the filming and production which will be beneficial to local film industry.
“The state government is ready to help make the production a success which will also help promote Ipoh to a wider audience,” he said.
Local actress Nadia Shan is reportedly starring in the leading female role.
Tamil Nadu-based director Robert Ramesh is helming the film with cinematographer Kabil, while Srikanth Deva is composing the music.
Ipoh Indian Cultural Association chairman Balaiya, Kinta Indian Cultural and Sports Association chairman P. Yuvaraj, temple committee chairman R. Seetharaman and other leaders attended the pooja.
