Storm warning: Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected in seven states, two FTs until 9pm


 

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather warning, with thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast in seven states and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya and Labuan until 9pm Monday (March 16).

In a statement Monday, MetMalaysia said the areas affected include Perak (Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim), Kelantan (Jeli, Tanah Merah, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang), Pahang (Jerantut and Kuantan), Selangor, Negri Sembilan (Seremban, Port Dickson and Rembau), and Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat and Pontian.

In Sarawak, the areas affected are Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei (Sarikei), Mukah (Tanjung Manis), Bintulu, Miri (Telang Usan and Marudi) and Limbang.
