Auxiliary cops nab four over suspected cable theft in KL


KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested four individuals for suspected cable theft at a power substation along Jalan Segambut Pusat.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Basri Sagoni said the suspects were detained by the auxiliary team after they were spotted near the substation in the early hours of March 11.

"The complainant, along with other auxiliary policemen, managed to detain all four suspects before contacting the police.

“Police also seized several pieces of equipment believed to have been in the cable theft," he said in a statement on Friday (March 13).

He said the three suspects entered the substation through the front door, while the fourth remained inside a vehicle.

Three of the four were charged today with criminal trespass while the fourth became a prosecution witness.
