TV actress probed over fraud cases released, say cops


SEREMBAN: The television actress detained for her alleged involvement in two cheating cases with her husband has been released.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Azahar Abdul Rahim said the 35-year-old woman was released around 8am on Wednesday (March 11).

"The woman will be made a prosecution witness in court.

"As of now, the couple is being probed for two cases here," he said.

On March 5, the couple was detained to assist in investigations into an RM1.5mil fraud case involving the sale of a nonexistent plot of land in Selangor.

Three days later, ACP Azahar said the duo were also probed for cheating a retiree of more than RM23,000 in exchange for a state government Datukship.

Earlier, the actress's 41-year-old husband Mohd Apri Hazreen Mohd Sapri claimed trial to both charges at the Sessions and Magistrate’s courts here.

Both cases would come up for next mention on April 15.
