THE Rathi Manmathan Kaman Thiruvizha, which has been celebrated for more than a century in Dengkil, is expected to draw thousands of visitors this year, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The spring festival originated in the estates of Ampar Tenang but these days, it is held at the Kampung Baru Ampar Tenang Mariamman Temple.

The one-of-a-kind celebration is dedicated to Manmadhan or Kamadevan, the deity of love and passion, and his consort Rathi.

The festival is said to have been celebrated by the village for four generations.

> A 13-year-old boy in India brutally murdered a nine-year-old girl who had told his parents about his drug use, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The boy from Bihar, who was not named as he is underaged, was apparently using marijuana regularly.

The girl, who is from the same village, caught him in the act one day and told his parents, who later punished their son.

Angered by this, the boy attacked the girl when she was alone at home.

Her body was later found by her parents.
