One killed, three hurt after car skids off Karak Highway and plunges into ravine


PETALING JAYA: One man was killed and three others were injured after a car skidded and plunged into a ravine at KM27.4 Kuala Lumpur-bound on the KL-Karak Highway early Thursday (March 5).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said the department received an emergency call at 4.47am.

"A team from the Selayang station was dispatched to the scene, about 17km away, and arrived at 5.03am.

"The incident involved a car that is believed to have skidded before plunging into a ravine.

"Four men were trapped inside," he said in a statement.

Ahmad Mukhlis said firefighters managed to rescue all the victims from the wreckage.

"Three of them sustained minor injuries, while one was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel," he said.
