Biker killed in three-vehicle crash on SUKE

KUALA LUMPUR: A motorcyclist was killed after being involved in an accident with a motorcycle and a trailer lorry at KM1.2 of the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Expressway (SUKE) on Thursday (March 5).

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the 33-year-old man, who was riding a motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene at about 9.30am due to severe injuries to his head and body.

He said preliminary investigations found that the victim, who was travelling from Desa Tun Razak towards Sri Petaling, is believed to have crashed into the rear of another motorcycle ridden by a 31-year-old man in the left lane while negotiating a bend.

“Following the collision, the victim lost control of his vehicle and fell onto the middle lane of the highway.

“A 41-year-old trailer lorry driver who was travelling in the same direction was unable to avoid the victim and hit him,” he said.

The victim was confirmed dead at the scene by a medical assistant from Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM).

The second motorcyclist and the trailer driver were not injured.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Police are also obtaining closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage around the location to assist investigations.

Members of the public or witnesses with information are urged to contact the Tun H.S. Lee Traffic Police Station at 03-2071 9999 or any nearby police station.
