PETALING JAYA: Security controls at all of the country's entry points will be stepped up through efficient enforcement, continuous monitoring and close interagency cooperation, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The Prime Minister said this was to curb cross-border crimes while safeguarding the country's safety and sovereignty
"The entire government machinery and I will always uphold His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia's decree to strengthen governance, enforcement and national security, ensuring the rakyat's well-being," he said in a social media post on Saturday (Aug 8) after an audience with Sultan Ibrahim.
Anwar also said findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry report on Lembaga Tabung Haji would be investigated thoroughly in line with His Majesty's decree.
"This aligns with the Madani administration's commitment to ensure all recommendations and findings are swiftly investigated without any compromise.
"Tabung Haji manages funds entrusted by millions of Malaysians, including farmers, civil servants and those from the middle- and lower-income groups who make savings for years.
"Anyone who abuses that trust must be brought to justice," he said.
Anwar added that Sultan Ibrahim also touched on developments involving the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) and was briefed on the progress of special task force investigations and reports.
"The Madani administration remains firmly committed to the principles of good governance, transparency and accountability, ensuring that justice is upheld and that any betrayal of the people's trust is dealt with firmly, regardless of position or rank," he said.
