US citizen found dead in cluttered Kampar home

IPOH: A 61-year-old Malaysian-born woman with United States citizenship was found dead in a double-storey house in Taman Golden Dragon, Kampar.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the woman was found trapped in the house after the department received a distress call at 3.22pm on Wednesday (March 4).

“The call reported a locked door and a person trapped inside the house,” he said.

“Upon arrival, we found police and Health Ministry personnel already at the scene, and the front door could not be fully opened because of obstructions caused by old items and rubbish,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

“The woman was confirmed dead by Health Ministry personnel before the firemen arrived.”

“Firemen used a power saw to cut through the back door to enter the house,” he added.
