Man killed, three injured in triple lorry pile-up on NSE

IPOH: A 24-year-old man was killed while three others were injured during an accident involving three lorries at KM378 northbound of the North-South Expressway near Tanjung Malim.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel during the incident on Tuesday (March 3) at about 3.55pm.
"The victim was found trapped in the driver's seat in a lorry that was transporting rice.
"The deceased was handed over to the police, while the three injured victims were handed over to Health Ministry personnel for further action," he said.
"The two other vehicles involved included one lorry that was transporting steel coils and another that was loaded with used goods," he added.
According to PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) on its official X account @plustrafik, work to clear the wreckages is still ongoing as of 6.45pm.
It said the left and middle lanes are still closed, while the right lane on the southbound lane between KM378 and KM382 has been closed for counter-path activation.
