Concrete evidence needed, not just allegations, says TMJ on fan group's comments

PETALING JAYA: Johor Regent and Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) owner Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has called for all allegations surrounding Malaysian football to be backed by concrete evidence and referred to the appropriate authorities for action.

"This is why it’s vital that we use all available facts and evidence and hand them over to the relevant government agencies for investigation and legal action," said Tunku Ismail.

"It can’t just be about theories. Let’s gather all the proof we can, together, for the sake of our national football," he added.

He was responding on X to a post by Youth Football Malaysia, which highlighted several ongoing challenges in the local game.

In their post, Youth Football Malaysia acknowledged that fundamental issues such as pitch quality, training centres, competitions and academies remain a work in progress.

They noted that many teams are striving to improve and added that these structural concerns have workable solutions.

However, they stressed that more serious matters are far more difficult to address.

These include document fraud, refereeing fraud and match-fixing.

They also highlighted league management misconduct and contract fraud as significant concerns.
