Chegubard's vehicle nicknamed 'Anak Gajah' damaged in crash

PETALING JAYA: A four-wheel-drive vehicle belonging to Badrul Hisham Shaharin, also known as Chegubard, has been badly damaged in a crash in Rembau, Negri Sembilan.

Rembau deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Azmi Ali said the vehicle crashed after avoiding an unidentified animal on the road.

He said Badrul Hisham was driving from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) toward Kampung Lada Chengkau on Jalan Chengkau-Pilin-Lubuk Cina at 12.30am on Thursday (Feb 26) when the accident occurred.

"An unidentified animal crossed the road from the right. He tried to avoid it but he lost control of his vehicle and skidded before crashing into a highway bridge pillar," Azmi said in a statement on Thursday, reported Sinar Harian.

He said the vehicle suffered damage to its front left tire, front bumper and hood.

Fortunately, Badrul Hisham was not injured.

In a Facebook post, Badrul Hisham shared his relief at surviving the crash but rued the loss of his long-time favourite car.

"The story of 'Anak Gajah' – a war machine that served me in many mass actions and charitable missions for 13 years – has come to an end," he said in his post, which included photos of his heavily damaged car.
