KOTA KINABALU: Police are on the hunt for suspected drug dealers following the seizure of drugs worth over RM1.2mil from a condominium in Penampang on Monday (Feb 23).

Penampang OCPD Supt Sammy Newton said in the incident, police had received a call about some suspicious looking boxes left unattended at the condominium lobby and a team was sent to investigate.

“Upon inspection, our team found syabu packed in 24 packages, weighing over 25.7kg and valued at more than RM1.2mil inside,” he said in a statement, adding that the items seized had been taken back to be investigated under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

“We are hunting for suspects with the hope of arresting culprits involved in dealing narcotic substances,” he said.

Supt Sammy thanked the public for their cooperation in helping police combat crime including drug offences in the district, and urged that they continue being the eyes and ears for the authorities for the safety of all.
