Mosques, surau in Kuantan receive Ramadan aid

KUANTAN: A total of 45 mosques and surau in the Indera Mahkota parliamentary constituency, along with another 29 in the Kuantan parliamentary constituency, received Ihya Ramadan contributions.

The Prime Minister’s political secretary Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi said that under the initiative, each mosque and surau received RM5,000 and RM3,000 respectively to help facilitate the implementation of programmes throughout the month of Ramadan.

“I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for his concern in channelling this allocation through the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department (ICU JPM) to support the needs of mosques and surau in the constituencies.”

He also expressed hope that the contribution would strengthen the role of mosques and surau as centres of worship, unity and community welfare, while ensuring that all programmes planned for Ramadan are implemented in a more organised manner and benefit the qariah as well as the local community, reported Bernama.

The Ihya Ramadan programme, held at Masjid Taman Balok Makmur, was also attended by Assistant Islamic Affairs Officer of the Kuantan District Islamic Religious Office, Mohammad Khairuddin Abdul Aziz.

The event was also enlivened with a brief tazkirah delivered by Ustaz Uwais Al-Qarni Abdul Wahab, highlighting the virtues and significance of the month of Ramadan.
