Cultural diversity in govt organisation vital to giving the best to the people, says Nga

PETALING JAYA: Cultural diversity within government organisations is a key strength in delivering the best service to the public, says Nga Kor Ming.

The Housing and Local Government Minister said this during a special Chinese New Year celebration with the ministry’s staff in Putrajaya on Friday (Feb 13).

“Today’s gathering reflects our commitment to celebrating diversity, which is Malaysia’s strength.

“At the Housing and Local Government Ministry, every festival is marked with a spirit of togetherness, fostering closer ties and reinforcing camaraderie among staff regardless of background.

“As we step into the Year of the Horse, it symbolises courage and resilience of great significance. I urge that this spirit be translated into diligent work and high dedication in carrying out our responsibilities to the people,” he said.

During the gathering, themed “Sentuhan Kasih Muhibah” symbolising unity, harmony, and cultural diversity, Nga also distributed 500 boxes of mandarin oranges to the staff.

The distribution of the oranges carried the hope that the new year would bring cheer and strengthen bonds among colleagues as they fulfilled their responsibilities to the people.

Also present were the secretary-general, Datuk Dr M Noor Azman Taib, senior management, and ministry staff.
