Tawau man held for hitting brother, threatening to burn down family home

KOTA KINABALU: A man who allegedly threatened his mother and beat his brother in Tawau has been arrested.

The 25-year-old was said to have also damaged items at their home in Kg Langsat Merotai when his mother decided to call the cops.

“Based on the woman’s report, her son threatened to burn down their house and was acting aggressively, so we sent a team to arrest the suspect,” said Tawau OCPD Asst Comm Jasmin Hussin.

He said police later found that the man had a previous drug-related conviction.

A knife was also seized, he said, adding that the suspect will be investigated for criminal intimidation and causing hurt.
