Sports car with no road tax, insurance, seized by JPJ in Tuaran

KOTA KINABALU: A businessman’s sports car was seized after it was found to have breached several traffic offences in Tuaran near here.

Road Transport Department (JPJ) officials were conducting Ops Khas Luxury late Monday (Feb 9) when they found out that the car was driven without a valid road tax or insurance.

“Its registration number was also not as per the required specification,” said Sabah JPJ director Datuk Mohd Harris Ali in a statement, Tuesday (Feb 10).

He said these were offences under the Road Transport Act 1987.

The vehicle was confiscated for further investigation.

“We will continue conducting operations and similar raids. The JPJ will not compromise and will take stern action against those who break rules on the road,” said Mohd Harris.
