Trailer attendant killed in North–South Expressway crash near Slim River


IPOH: A 33-year-old trailer attendant was killed after the vehicle he was in overturned at KM386 southbound of the North–South Expressway near Slim River.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department acting assistant director of operations Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah said the victim was found trapped in the vehicle, which was transporting granulated sugar, at about 9.45am on Friday (Feb 6), and was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

"The victim's body has been handed over to the police for further action. The trailer driver, 51, is safe," he said in a statement.

"There was also another lorry, which skidded and crashed into a drain. The 32-year-old driver sustained minor injuries," he said, adding that the driver has received treatment.
