Penang bomba rescue woman with leg trapped in drain cover


GEORGE TOWN: Firemen rescued a woman after her leg became trapped in the grates of a drain cover at Taman Titi Heights in Balik Pulau, Penang.

Penang Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director John Sagun Francis said the incident was reported at 12.41pm on Feb 1.

"The Fire and Rescue Department arrived at about 12.47pm and only a victim involved in the incident," he said in a statement on Sunday (Feb 1).

He said firemen carried out rescue efforts and successfully freed the victim's leg, adding she suffered injuries on her right thigh.

The victim was then handed over to family members at the scene to be taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The operation ended at 1.25pm.
