"Only through this way can the fruits of progress be enjoyed equitably by all Malaysians," he said in his message in conjunction with the Federal Territories Day celebration on Feb 1 (Sunday).

In his message, Anwar said that the spirit of compassion, mutual respect and togetherness that forms the foundation of the Madani government will continue to be strengthened to safeguard harmony, stability and shared well-being.

He also expressed his heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Federal Territory Day to all residents of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.

Federal Territory Day is observed on Feb 1 each year in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.

Historically, the day was celebrated to commemorate the transfer of Kuala Lumpur to federal control in 1974.
