Motorcyclist praised for trying to save kitten

A MOTORCYCLIST received praise online for trying to save a kitten that ran into a busy traffic light intersection in Melaka, China Press reported.

The incident near Taman Merdeka was captured via dashcam on a car waiting behind the motorcyclist.

A kitten was seen suddenly jumping out of a car and running quickly towards the middle of the road.

The motorcyclist immediately chased after the kitten on foot while raising his hands to signal approaching vehicles to slow down.

He quickly picked it up and placed the kitten in his motorcycle’s basket. However, it had already been hit by a vehicle.

The female passenger in the car could be heard praising the motorcyclist, calling him a “good person”.

After the 28-second clip was uploaded online, many netizens lauded the motorcyclist for his bravery and compassion.

In the comments section, a man believed to be the rescuer himself announced that the kitten had unfortunately succumbed to its wounds.

“Thank you everyone. I tried my best but God loved it (the kitten) more,” he wrote.

> A dog in China’s Jilin province is believed to have been eaten by a tiger, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The incident took place at a village in Hunchun city recently, where a tiger wandered in.

CCTV footage showed the large animal prowling, with dogs heard barking in the background.

A resident noticed one of his dogs missing and saw footprints belonging to a large animal.

He tracked down the prints only to find the eaten remains of his pup.

Local police warned villagers and tourists to be alert as tigers sometimes enter the village due to its proximity to the Northeast China Tiger and Leopard National Park.

Local authorities said tigers are known to come down from the nearby mountains when food is scarce during wintertime.
