Moderate earthquake hits Seram, Indonesia, no tsunami threat to Malaysia


KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck Seram, Indonesia, at 7.50am on Saturday (Jan 16).

The Malaysian Meteorological Department, in a statement, said that the quake occurred at a depth of 36km, about 82 km northeast of Ambon, Indonesia.
