Indonesia's ambassador-designate to Malaysia to assume duties next week

JAKARTA: Indonesia’s ambassador-designate to Malaysia, Datuk Iman Hascarya Kusumo, is expected to officially assume his duties next week.

The Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur said Iman is scheduled to present his letters of credence to Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, before officially taking up his post.

In a post on social media, the embassy said Iman, who arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Thursday (Jan 15), was welcomed by Indonesia’s Deputy Head of Mission Danang Waskito, Defence Attache Tri Andi, and Malaysian protocol officials.

Iman, a non-career diplomat, previously served as deputy treasurer of the Prabowo-Gibran Rakabuming Raka National Campaign Team during Indonesia’s 2024 presidential election.

He replaces Datuk Hermono, who returned to Jakarta at the end of November. — Bernama
