High on meth, man allegedly threatens to slit toddler’s throat with broken bottle in Kelantan


PASIR PUTEH: A man who tested positive for drugs is believed to have threatened to kill his two-year-old daughter in an incident at Jalan Pak Mayong, Tok Bali here on Wednesday.

In the incident that happened at about 7.25am on Wednesday (Jan 14), the suspect was said to have gone to the edge of a jetty while holding a shard of a glass bottle.

Pasir Puteh District Police Chief, Supt Zaizul Rizal Zakaria, said initial investigations found that the suspect took the child to the edge of the jetty while holding shards of a broken glass bottle, believed to have been taken from around the area, according to Sinar Harian.

"An initial urine screening test on the suspect found that the man tested positive for methamphetamine."

"The cause of the incident is still under further investigation by the police," he said when contacted on Wednesday.

According to him, a physical examination found that the child did not suffer any injuries.

He said the child was referred to Tengku Anis Hospital for further examination and health monitoring.

He added that the police are conducting further investigations and will take appropriate action in accordance with the applicable law.

"In the meantime, the public is advised not to make any speculation that could affect the investigation and is asked to cooperate with the police fully," he said.
