Two 4WDs collide in Kulai, one dies


KULAI: A passenger in a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle died at a hospital here while receiving treatment, after the vehicle collided with another 4WD.

Kulai OCPD Asst Comm Tan Seng Lee said the incident occurred at KM48 Jalan Johor Baru – Ayer Hitam, heading towards Ayer Hitam, at about 4am on Wednesday (Jan 14).

"One of the vehicles is believed to have entered the opposite lane and collided head-on with the other vehicle.

"The case is still under investigation and the cause of the incident has yet to be determined," he said in a statement.

He said a passenger in one of the 4WD vehicles, a 26-year-old man, was confirmed dead at Hospital Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim at about 7am due to severe head injuries.

"Meanwhile, both drivers are receiving treatment at the same hospital," he added.

ACP Tan said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He urged the public with information regarding the accident to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Mohamad Firdaus Mustaffa at 011-26081008 or visit the Traffic Investigation Division at Kulai District Police Headquarters.
