Michelle Yeoh to attend inaugural Bukit Bintang Parade launch for Visit Malaysia 2026, says Nga

IPOH: Oscar-winning actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh will attend the lighting ceremony launch at Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, on Jan 3, in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026, says Nga Kor Ming.

The Housing and Local Government Minister said he received the confirmation of her attendance, along with her husband, Jean Todt, the former CEO of Ferrari.

He said the lighting-up ceremony is jointly organised by his ministry, Tourism Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur City Hall.

“Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will officiate the event, and it will be broadcast live on RTM.

“It will also feature the inaugural Bukit Bintang Parade, involving 20 contingents,” he told reporters after visiting the Taman Canning market here on Tuesday (Dec 23).

Nga said there would be performances by popular singer Faizal Tahir, interactions with “Abang Sado Bomba”, as well as fireworks and cultural performances by Istana Budaya.

He said the event would take place on the evening of Jan 3 in front of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and is open to the public.

“The initiative is part of preparations for Visit Malaysia, with Tourism Malaysia targeting 45 million tourist arrivals next year.

“As of December, more than 40 million foreign tourists have entered the country,” he added.
