Labuan man finds python in toilet

KOTA KINABALU: An elderly man in Labuan got the shock of his life when he lifted the toilet cover in a hair salon on Tuesday (Dec 23) and found a huge python curled up inside.

He had gone in for a toilet break around 10am but was greeted by the unexpected reptilian guest.

“Luckily the snake did not attack me,” said the elderly man.

Labuan Civil Defence Department officials said they received a call for help at about 10.32am and quickly arrived at the hair salon to assist.

They then captured the reptile and later handed it over to wildlife officials for further action.

A day earlier in the Sandakan district, Civil Defence officials responded to another snake incident at Taman Indah Jaya. A four-metre long snake was spotted slithering outside a house after dusk, prompting a resident to call 999 for help.

The 15kg reptile was safely captured and placed inside a gunny sack, with no injuries reported. This snake was also handed over to wildlife officials for further action.
