Two motorcyclists killed in crash along Jalan Mambau

SEREMBAN: Two motorcyclists were killed in an accident along Jalan Mambau near here on Sunday night (Dec 21).

District OCPD Asst Comm Azahar Abdul Rahim said the victims, S. Are Chandaran, 46, and R. Gopal, 41, died at the scene in the 9.30pm accident.

"Based on preliminary investigation, Are Chandaran had veered into the opposite lane and crashed into the side mirror of a car driven by a 55-year-old man. He then lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into Gopal, who was tailing the car," he said.

ACP Azahar added that police have obtained dashcam footage of the accident from other motorists. Both motorcyclists suffered serious facial and head injuries from the crash.

Their remains were sent to Rembau Hospital for post-mortem, and blood samples have been taken for toxicology tests.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
