Cops arrest suspect who allegedly gave toddler black eye

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a suspect who is alleged to have assaulted a three-year-old child here.

In a statement on Friday (Dec 19), Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus said that the suspect was arrested on Thursday (Dec 18) and has been remanded for four days until Dec 22.

He said the suspect, who was resting at home, may have committed the assault because the child was crying.

"The victim is in stable condition and is still being treated at the hospital," he said.

It was previously reported that the 18-year-old son of a babysitter had hit the child at a house in Batu Muda, causing bruising to the child's face.
