KUALA LUMPUR: There will be no increase in toll charges on highways run by 10 concessionaires in 2026, with the government to bear the costs, says, says Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

The government spokesperson and Communications Minister said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim conveyed this at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday (Dec 17).

"For the year 2026 – details to be provided by the Works Ministry – ten highway concessionaires will not increase their toll rates.

"This decision has financial implications for the government and the government will bear the costs.

"Regarding the financial implications, please refer to the Works Ministry as they have the detailed information," said Fahmi at a post-Cabinet briefing at Angkasapuri here on Thursday (Dec 18).
