PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup has displayed high commitment and made meaningful contributions in efforts to strengthen the country's agricultural and food sector in his role as the deputy minister, says Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.
The Agriculture and Food Security Minister expressed gratitude to his former deputy minister following Arthur’s recent appointment as the Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister.
“I would like to express my deepest congratulations and gratitude to Dauk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup for all his contributions and services throughout his tenure as Deputy Agriculture and Food Security Minister.
“I pray that Datuk Seri Arthur will continue to be blessed with success and strength in his new tenure as Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister.
“May his services continue to benefit the country and the people. Good luck and thank you for all your services,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 17).
On Tuesday (Dec 16), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced a new list of Cabinet members and deputy ministers, with prominent names taking on new portfolios and switching roles.
Earlier, Amwar said the government will continue to prioritise strengthening governance and improving the effectiveness of policy implementation for the well-being of the people and the country.
The reshuffle comes after four portfolios were already vacant. The posts of Economy Minister, held by Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli; Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, held by Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad; and Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, held by Datuk Ewon Benedick, were left empty following their resignations.
Meanwhile, the position of Investment, Trade and Industry Minister, held by Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, became vacant after his term as a Senator expired.
