Madani Rahmah sales benefit over two million in Perak

GOPENG: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) organised 1,835 Madani Rahmah sales programmes this year in Perak, benefitting more than two million people.

Perak KPDN director Datuk Kamalludin Ismail said the number of programmes represented an increase of 94.6% compared with 943 programmes last year.

“The ministry remains committed and will continue to organise the programmes to ensure the people of Perak benefit from the purchase of essential goods at discounted prices of around 10% to 30%,” he told a press conference after launching the Fun Ride for Rahmah and Jiwa Murni Pengguna Mesra programmes with the Ulu Geruntum Orang Asli community here yesterday, Bernama reported.

Kamalludin said Perak KPDN would also organise the Back-to-School Madani Rahmah sales programmes at 58 locations this month and in January 2026 to help students and parents obtain school necessities at below market prices.

“For us, this programme is very meaningful as it provides an opportunity for parents to purchase school uniforms, shoes, bags and stationery at reasonable prices,” he said.

Regarding the programme with the Orang Asli community, he said it was held for the first time in collaboration with Selangor KPDN.

Kamalludin said the event aimed to engage with the people in Ulu Geruntum to ensure they receive information on government facilities and cost-of-living assistance.
