Disabled senior citizen found drowned at irrigation channel in Perak


IPOH: A 77-year-old disabled man with prosthetic leg was found drowned at an irrigation channel near Jalan Kampung Sungai Tiang Baru in Selekoh, Hutan Melintang.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department acting operations chief Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah said the victim was found under a bridge, about 2m from where he was believed to have fallen on Wednesday (Dec 17).

"We received a call at about 7.50am about a missing person.

"When we arrived, we saw the victim's wheelchair by the side of the irrigation channel where we believed he had fallen into," he said in a statement.

"After pulling the victim's body out of the water, a team of medical personnel checked and confirmed his death at the location.
