Sabah civil servants to get an extra month's salary next year, says Masidi

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah civil servants will get a special assistance of a month’s salary or a minimum of RM2,000 to be paid in two stages next year.

State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said these recipients include contract workers and daily wage workers.

“This special assistance will be paid in two phases, once in February before Hari Raya Aidilfitri and once before Kaamatan,” he said when tabling the Budget 2026, Friday (Dec 12).

Other than that, state pensioners will also get RM1,000 in 2026, he said.

Earlier, he said that the Budget 2026 themed ‘Accelerating Development, Prioritising the people’s wellbeing’, will be a surplus budget with state revenue estimated to be at RM6.430bil and operating expenditure at RM6.402bil.

This would see a surplus of RM28mil.
