Motorcyclist dies after crashing into divider on NPE


KUALA LUMPUR: A motorcyclist has been killed after he skidded and crashed into a road divider at KM12.1 of the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) here.

Kuala Lumpur traffic investigation and enforcement department chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the 31-year-old Indian national was riding his motorcyle from Bangsar towards Petaling Jaya when he lost control of his vehicle.

"T the victim, who held an Indian passport and did not have a driving licence, veered out of control before hitting the divider. The impact caused severe head injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene," he said in a statement on Friday (Dec 12).

ACP Mohd Zamzuri said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He urged witnesses to come forward those who saw the incident are asked to contact the Tun HS Lee police station at 03-2071 9999 or the Kuala Lumpur traffic investigating officer at 017-973 2731.
