Kedah Education Department probes school’s invitation of social media influencer

PETALING JAYA: The Kedah State Education Department is investigating the invitation of a social media influencer who officiated an academic awards ceremony at a school in the state.

In a statement on Tuesday (Dec 9), the department said it views the matter seriously, adding that strict action would be taken against any party found to have failed to comply with the regulations currently in force.

“All school administrators are to ensure that invitations to external parties comply with guidelines.

“Invited guests must set good examples and align with the aspirations contained in the National Education Philosophy,” it said.
