Foreigner suspected of raping S'ban teen remanded for seven days

SEREMBAN: Police have obtained a court order to remand a 31-year-old foreigner suspected of raping a 16-year-old girl here, resulting in her pregnancy.

Nilai OCPD Supt Johari Yahya said on Tuesday (Dec 9) that the suspect would be remanded for seven days until Dec 15.

The case, he said, was being probed under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.

It was reported earlier that the suspect, who was believed to have raped the girl on several occasions, had returned to his country after committing the crimes.

The suspect and the victim were believed to have been working in an outlet in Taman Semarak in Nilai near here.

The victim's mother only found out that her daughter was pregnant when the victim complained of a stomach ache and was taken for treatment.

The mother then lodged a police report.

It is learnt that the suspect was detained at the KL International Airport upon his return on Monday (Dec 8) morning.
