KUALA LUMPUR: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, on Monday (Dec 8) graciously received a coffee table book titled ‘Estetika Taman Nurani Masjid-Masjid Di Selangor’ published by Bernama, showcasing 20 selected mosques in the state.

The 181-page book was presented by Bernama Chairman Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai, alongside Bernama Chief Executive Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin and Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj during an exclusive interview at a hotel here.

According to Wong, the special publication was released in conjunction with Sultan Sharafuddin’s 80th birthday.

He said the book featured 20 selected mosques from a total of 445 in Selangor based on historical significance and architectural value, and was published in both Malay and English.

"Presenting to His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor a coffee table book on 20 selected mosques across Selangor, which were selected from over 400 mosques in the state. We presented the first copy to His Royal Highness.

"These mosques are more than places of worship but of architectural beauty. The book has been published in conjunction with Tuanku's 80th birthday,” he said in an Instagram post on Monday.

The coffee table book is the result of a collaboration between Bernama and the Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia. — Bernama
